Hello, I am a 26 year old female with thinning hair
and I recently started using women's rogaine as
well as a topical shen-min solution   Although I'm
not sure if your method will work for me, I am
going to try it by not using shampoo.

But do you think it is ok to continue using these
other products as well to promote the regrowth
(especially since I'm not washing any of it out with
shampoo)?  It would be nice to have your opinion
on this.  Thank you in advance.

END balding
for EVERYONE:
Easy. Inexpensive.

-Baldness Research Only A Thought
When I was 25 in 1963, an acquaintance remarked about a nickel-sized bald spot at
the right rear corner of my head.  I rubbed it for two or three weeks, thinking it was caused
by inadequate circulation.  At that time, magazine ads habitually harped about "male pattern
baldness."  I wonder that it never became a wallpaper pattern.
If balding were genetically caused, one would expect only one "pattern"
to occur and in the same proximate place; not helter-skelter about the head.
As well, the rate of balding would not exhibit such variability as genes do have
consistent behavior. And the age at onset would be within a predictable range.
But now even teenagers are balding. Why?
-
-Hucksters, Halloween, Eggs, & Egos
Imbibing may help but I never discerned a pattern in "male pattern baldness"
though left or right-handedness may be suggested by which scalp locale has balded first.
-
 Regrowth...& my Ground Zero
Warning:  Watching grass grow  is more exciting than this section.
The right rear corner of my head was very bald: Ground Zero of my "male pattern baldness."
That was almost invariably the initial application site of soap or shampoo when washing my hair.
I am right-handed. I don't recall if I gradually moved the shampoo application site as I balded.
I doubt it.

I read through your site, twice.
I found it interesting to say the least.
I'm not sure that you are completely correct.
But who can say?. .
I was in the shower a couple hours after reading
your site. Started to wash my hair and then it
dawned on me,

the exact areas where I am balding are
the exact areas where my hands come into
direct contact with my scalp when I shampoo!

Friends,
Having major regrowth. Fast. It's like a bunch
of resting hair decided to come back all at once.
Family even noticed it.

Took 9 months to start in a big way. Not mind
games, not wishful thinking, pure hair growth.

How long does it take to completely regrow lost hair?  Regrowth starts immediately
in those areas where little or no scalp damage has been done...but you won't be able to see
regrowth there: "Can't see the trees for the forest."

In slightly balded areas, you might see it after a month (with a magnifier). Regrowth visibility
time depends primarily on scalp damage but also on testosterone level (stimulates hair growth),
circulation (couch potato or fitness freak), your normal growth rate (slow, average, fast). Average
growth is about a half inch per month. Look for regrowth at the hairline; not in the center of a
bald area unless it's very small.

Slightly bald:  1 to 2 years.

Moderately bald:  3 to 5 years.

Extremely bald:  up to 10 years.

These are only guesstimates and will vary from person to person. Patience required.

 Common Sense
How is shampoo acid not also an ACTIVE  INGREDIENTIt's certainly not milk.

If one sat in a small, round, metal or wood tub of water once a week, month, or year,
scooped  up handfuls of hard water to wet the hair and then used low sudsing homemade soap,
balding and graying for most would be minimal over a lifetime. The minimization resulting more
from short life expectancy way back then rather than from one's personal ablution habits.
Those were the "good old days".

But if one
soaks the hair with a soft water shower nozzle two or three times a week or every day...
and applies an already viscous glob of shampoo that mushrooms like cotton candy...
and then "Repeat." as the label suggests and maybe use hair conditioner after that...
balding will accelerate and be maximal in half a lifetime or sooner.
Suds and bald. That is our present convenience and displeasure.
And that's why some Teenagers are now noticeably balding or graying...or both.

-
  -

How acid in soap & shampoo
  causes balding and graying:
Each day hairs naturally fall out and then regrow...but leave temporary
openings into the scalp:
 about 100 per day
         700 per week
      3,000 per month
     36,500 per year
A 10-year-old's scalp already has afforded 365,000 invasive opportunities
for the acid in shampoo; 730,000 at age 20, and 1,095,000 at age 30.
All figures assume no balding has already occurred.

Read Hypothesis: No microscope needed to learn how these numbers
relate to the balding and graying processes. .There's a link back here:

RETURN TO How acid in soap...

prolonging the hair loss phase:

Assuming one does not use a chemical shampoo, ...especially one with SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate)..., when a hair falls out it goes into a "resting phase" of 3 months before regrowing. That is natural.

But when using shampoo containing SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate),
hair follicles are said to be damaged in
 such a way that,
...once a hair falls out...,
it likely requires 24 months instead of the usual 3 months  to resume regrowth:

Hair Loss Control Clinic
http://hlcconline.com/hair-loss-faq.shtml

And this:  there's no mention if regrowth rate will then be usual "half an inch per month" or
initially a slower rate. The only CERTAINTY is that hair does regrow.  Patience required.

Write this on your bathroom mirror
with a crayon:
èThere is NO 'bald gene'.ç
Write it on every mirror in America
until it becomes a television news story.
"Honey, may I borrow your lipstick for a moment?
Uhh, I forgot my crayon. I'll explain later."

The American Hair Loss Council ought
GIVE away...not sell...this bumper sticker:

L There is NO 'bald gene'.
SORRY; we goofed.
American Hair Loss Council

But, being a mouthpiece of greedy corporations,
it would be done only with a government grant indexed
for inflation and automatically renews for 100 hundred years.
ZERO accountability, naturally.

Hygienic cleanliness is prudent.
Beyond that, it is an ADDICTION.
You are balding and graying as you
always have: by your own hands.
You are both victim and culprit.

You're not entirely to blame.

Hands in
Washington, D.C.
keep you ignorant.

They are not magicians' hands for our amusement.
They are grabby, greedy hands causing our detriment.
Not immoral or evil; just "business as usual." Politics.
It's really that cavalierly done as there's no funeral.

"Mr. Smith goes to Washington", the 1939 'feel good' movie
starring Jimmy Stewart, was ...in reality... like magicians' hands:
merely for our amusement. Nothing changed in real life:
On September 16, 1940, Sam Rayburn was selected as
Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.

Perhaps his most famous saying was "To get along, go along."
He was not personally greedy; merely a realist.
Washington, D.C. reality is relentless greed, the alimony of power.

The roots of your gray hair and/or baldness have too long been in Washington, D.C.
as Congress refuses to require the FDA to regulate chemicals in hair care products.
In this one instance, Congress has at last unwittingly also victimized itself by
its insatiable greed.  An ironic, self-inflicted retribution that is deserved and
ought be the subject of much laughter for years to come. A Broadway show?

[Evening. Moon is up. Young, bald guy sitting on park bench;
arms extended along top of back, legs extended.]

Bald is beautiful. BALD is beautiful. Ha!
My kneecaps are bald; nobody ever complimented them. Elbows. Ankles.

Bald is beautiful.
IF you've got looks. IF you've got money...muscles...wit...charm!
THEN bald is beautiful. Everything is beautiful then.
A wart on the tip of your nose is a beauty mark!

Why does HAIR mean so much? Why does it DECIDE so much?
Get a bad haircut and it's gossip.
What was that about...them or me?
Must've made them feel good.
No bad haircuts now.
More gossip, though.

Hair's just another game. Bob Dylan was right.
[Sings softly.]
"Oh the games that people play.
Every night and every day.
Never sayin' what they mean,
Never meanin' what they say."

[Pulls hairpiece from back pocket, letting it rest atop his fingertips as he twists wrist
back and forth and then thrusts it up as though it's on a pedestal. Talks to it.]

Hairpiece, you didn't help me at all: NO SALE. Must be 'cause you're ugly.
Nah. You're the Deluxe model! You cost more than your cousins.
Two hundred ninety-nine dollars and ninty-nine cents more.
So you can't be ugly, can you? You're a lousy salesman though.
Store window mannequins are probably bald 'cause you guys can't sell.
Ever think about that?
Just look at you! Your hair is never messed...except in a windstorm.
Why can't you look like a fright wig once in a while? Have a bad hair day, huh?
Ugly or not, you guys kill sales. I'll probably have to find a wife in eastern Europe.

All that you've brought me is jokes, jokes, jokes.
"What do you feed it?"
"Can I pet it?"
"Does it bite?"
"What's its name?"

[Flips hairpiece onto bench.]
Loser; that's your name. Same as mine.

[Points finger at it as though about to say more; doesn't.]

Doorknobs...bowling balls...baboon butts! That's all that should be bald.
Hair was the only thing I had going. Without it, I'm just...me. Not good enough.
Why couldn't I have been a monkey...or chimpanzee...or gorilla!

[Street light comes on. Beneath it is a pretty, miniskirted girl
and a shirtless, handsome, bald guy with bodybuilder's muscles.]

There she is...with HIM again. Smiles for brains...and it works. But even bald he looks good. Shaved it bald, too!
Why me? Dad 's a little bald...but grampa looks like a caveman and gramma has a moustache!
And Mom's family could turn a profit barbering themselves...if they weren't so lazy. Stink, too.
Bet they take a bath once a year...with a garden hose! [Laughs.]

[Stands up. Looks at hairpiece. Reluctantly picks it up as he turns slightly and looks at couple. Shakes head.
Voice gradually loudens.] Male pattern baldness. Where's the pattern? Bobbie's head looks like a pitcher's mound.
George has WHITEWALLS around his ears. Why doesn't Eddie wear a cap to hide that mess?
Looks like a wheatfield smashed by half inch hail.
[Shoulders slumped in dejection, slowly walks offstage. Gestures with hand holding hairpiece.]
Helter skelter...but they call it male pattern baldness. Make it a wallpaper pattern!

Two acids are often used in one hair care

Sodium Laureth Sulfate

Suds sell soap.

Suds sell soap.

Natural products

but they also do not bald, gray,

Laureth suds contain ether
which causes allergic reaction for some.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
does the cleaning. Here's why:

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate "...is used in garage
floor cleaners, engine degreasers, car wash
soaps, etc."

Inexpensive to make (cheap), both acids are used in many
NAME BRAND hair care products
which are often marketed as NATURAL.

Sodium Laureth Sulfate
is a gasoline derivative.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate

is a gasoline/petro derivative.

of the American College of Toxicology:
 Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)
"High levels of skin penetration may

"...it is absorbed through the skin and

evidence that SLS accumulates in the
lungs, liver, and brain, causing potential
 problems in these organs."

Question received by SiteFORSoreEyes:
"Hello! I read your post about the cause of

Suds and Me: A Groomer's Love Affair
by Barbara Bird

My love affair with suds lasted over 20 years. It spanned two thirds of my pet grooming career.

It ended with an awakening and a transformation of my understanding of shampoos. I'm sharing my story in the hope that other groomers can benefit from my experience and move into a 21st Century appreciation of the role of suds in pet grooming.

Are you ready to give up your love affair with the millions of tiny bubbles  and enter the 21st Century with a science based expectation of your shampoo products?

Yes, suds are necessary. It is the means by which the cleansing agents are delivered. As with many other things we like, there can be too much of a good thing. We have been brainwashed with images of thick suds as being "rich" and "luxurious" by advertisers of human hair products. We carry that over to our pet grooming. Besides, thick foam feels good to our sense of touch which further validates what we have been manipulated to believe.

Do Hair Loss Treatments Really Work?

The Food and Drug Administration considers hair loss a
disease, which gives it the authority to police hair-growing
drugs. “Could being short also constitute a disease?”
I asked an FDA official. Long pause. “It all depends,” he said.
By the feds’ standards, I’m one sick pup.

If baldness is really a disease, it’s one that afflicts about
35 million American men — a number big enough to justify a
blowout annual telethon, complete with clowns and magicians.
About half of all American men are losing their hair.

MONDAY, Dec. 6 (HealthDayNews) -- Experiments with
the brain cells of rats show that contact with an ingredient
found in shampoos, hand lotions and paint causes
neurons to die.

The chemical, methylisothiazolinone (MIT), belongs to a
class of compounds called biocides. These are used in the
manufacture of many common household products and
industrial water cooling systems to prevent bacteria from
developing.

According to the National Institutes of Health (news - web sites),  brands containing MIT include the shampoos
Head and Shoulders, Suave, and Clairol, as well as
Pantene hair conditioner and Revlon hair color.

Ingredient In Shampoo May Affect Memory

The research in animals centers around diethanolamine (DEA),
a chemical used in shampoos, lotions, creams and other cosmetics.

DEA is used widely because it provides a rich lather in
shampoos and keeps a favorable consistency in lotions
and creams, but there's also some research that shows
it may rob the brain of its ability to make memory cells.

 Think about it:
If hair is dry and scalp itchy,
why use Hair Conditioners?

They contain ACID*, ALCOHOL*,
AND MORE THAN A DOZEN chemicals.

*ACID strips moisturizing lipids from the skin.
*ALCOHOL is a drying agent.

Itchiness means acid burn...from conditioners, shampoos,
and gels. Alcohol dries up natural scalp oil.

BUT some have excessively oily hair and scalp instead of
DRY hair and scalp. Acid burn is still the problem:  scalp
overproduces
OIL  to counteract the ACID.  Diet, genes,

or both, may also cause more oil than alcohol dries up.

Keep acid off the scalp. Itchiness should STOP and oil
return to normal. HAIR will definitely regrow.

And who needs an extra dozen chemicals  on their head? N

tion makes logical sense, but it just seems too good to be true. I am 19 and
am experiencing really slight, yet extremely ugly baldness. It first started above
my ears a year and a half ago, after cutting my hair when it was really long.
Since then the hairline above my ears has been getting higher and the frontal
and temporal areas have receded slightly to make my life that much more fun.
Because of this, my first year of college life has been a major disappointment.
Instead of hitting up the ladies and enjoying my time as a young man, I
spend all day looking at the fading glory on the top of my head. Getting
out of my room without a hat on is living hell for me. I've been trying the
grunge method for a week now and it's too early to tell if anything's going on,
but my scalp and hair seems to have much more oil on them, which is good
because it was as dry as hell before. I have decided I will try this method for
at least six months and go from there."

Decide for yourself.

"Many shampoos claiming to be "all-natural" will list "essential oils"
but they do not mention that they also use synthetic fragrances that
can contain as many as 200 chemicals, some of which pose known
health risks."

 Read carefully:
One synthetic fragrance  ALONE
"...can contain as many as 200 chemicals,..."
Excluding water, a label may list only 21 ingredients  BUT IF ONE
of them is fragrance, the actual number of chemicals may be 220!
"...some of which pose known health risks."

"Waxes and Silicones are very common in conventional shampoos,
but these coat your hair & scalp and may prevent them from breathing.
They also cause build-up and weigh your hair down, making it lose its
volume and bounce." Waxes and Silicones? Fine for cars and floors.

"Just like brushing your teeth too hard can deteriorate your teeth's
protective enamel, the same applies with hair and its protective coating.
Once your hair's natural moisture is gone, it will lose its natural shine
and adopt the properties of its environment more rapidly. For example,
it will smell like smoke in a smoky restaurant, it will frizz on a humid day
and begin drying out causing more problems like breakage."

"... does not contain any ingredients that classify a confirmed or
potential health risk. You no longer have to compromise between health
and cleansing performance."

"... produces a luxurious lather that cleanses effectively without the use
of harsh surfactants and foaming agents, making it mild and safe for
adults and infants."

"You have a right to know!"

"The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has a GRAS list
(Generally Regarded ASafe), and almost everything is
on there, so most people selling these products just focus on
the marketing hype and what the product is supposed to do
for skin (clean it, make it feel soft, etc.).

Sadly, of the 7000 ingredients used on the skin, only 5-6
have been tested for long-term safety,and none have
been tested TOGETHER.*  Currently, 125 are strongly
suspected carcinogens, 20 cause adverse nervous
system reactions, and 25 are connected to birth defects."

*Another extremely serious problem is the connection of SLS*
with nitrate contamination. SLS reacts with many types of
ingredients used in skin products and forms nitrosamines
(nitrates).  Nitrates are potential cancer causing carcinogenics.

*SLS:  Sodium Lauryl Sulfate - Acid used in soaps & cosmetics.
SLS is also used in garage floor cleaners and engine degreasers.

Linda Chae presented Senator Edward Kennedy

Washington handshake: "something for something"

What's needed is an entrepreneur and showman like Donald Trump to tell the world why it's balding and graying.   If Mr. Trump assigned the task to several of The Apprentice runner-ups, we wouldn't have to read pathetic forum posts like just below at Even babies are balding these days:

"Thinning hair in 2.5 year old  Sept. 2004 About a month ago we noticed that our daughter was losing quite a lot of hair, especially on the top of her head. Once she had a head full of curls, and now it is very thin on top, almost bald - like a middle aged man's receding hairline. I also notice that the texture is changing - from curly to straight.

Her pediatrician was not concerned about this, but has recommended we see a pediatric dermatologist to rule out any skin condition, and we are scheduled to see the dermatologist in late October. However, she continues to lose more hair every day, which is causing me much worry. Her doctor has ruled out a thyroid  problem, but agrees the continued loss is unusual. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Worried Mom"

 For those who CANNOT understand

why the U.S. Congress

permits dangerous chemicals
 to remain in consumer products,
just below is a brief portrait of a remarkable American, William Proxmire,
who did his utmost to expose the legal thievery of Congressmen. He was the antithesis of the "Ugly Americans" so loathed by europeans a half century ago.

Today, the really "Ugly Americans" are members of the U.S. Congress ...as, among too many other odorous things,... they are
responsible for the worldwide pandemic of balding and graying:

WHATEVER SELLS in America also sells elsewhere.
Ask ANY balding person in a Third World country
"What shampoo and soap brands do you use?"

Congress has known about  dangerous chemicals
in consumer products for OVER 100 YEARs.
Congress enacted the "Pure Food and Drug Act of 1915" in response to public pressure.

In this web page, read a  Book Review about the development of the hair and skin care products industries.  It covers some chemical horrors that
Congress, ...the stupidly ruthless Quid Pro Quo Club...,
had to be  PRESSURED for many years to regulate; ... and then wrote loophole laws that targeted only a few chemicals; but there weren't many anyway. 7000 is the number now.

Now, 100 years later, Linda Chae wrote just above:

"Sadly, of the 7000 ingredients used on the skin,
 only 5-6
have been tested for long-term safety,
and none have been tested TOGETHER. Currently,

"When will they ever learn?  The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind.
The answer is blowing in the wind."
  an American folk song.

William Proxmire (D-Wisconsin) was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1957 and was known for battling for causes that few colleagues embraced. He won re-election
repeatedly without accepting campaign donations. Proxmire served as chairman of
the Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs until his retirement in 1988.

In 1975, William Proxmire established his annual
       Golden Fleece Awards
In this way, he "publicized outlandish government spending, bureaucratic wastage or money misused in the case of self-advancement". Some examples of his Golden Fleece awards was the US navy's use of 64 planes to fly 1,334 pilots to a reunion in Las Vegas and doormats that cost the navy $792 each.

There is a 14-year history of fleeces from 1975 to 1988.

Criteria for the Award  The dubious distinction of a

Golden Fleece Award
was not given to just any example of government waste in the federal budget. Instead, it was awarded to federal programs that most Americans would agree were outrageous and wasteful. For example, although Senator Proxmire believed that the MX Missile was a waste of money, he never gave a Fleece to that program.

More importantly, projects receiving the Golden Fleece Awards
did not necessarily have high costs but rather violated a principle of responsible government spending. Some examples include a $27,000
study to determine why inmates want to escape from prison
 and
a $6,000 17- page document on how to buy Worcestershire Sauce.

“My own favorite was the study to find out whether sunfish that drink tequila are more aggressive than sunfish who drink gin,”  Senator Proxmire told The Atlanta Journal and Constitution in 1985.

The senator was a fitness and health advocate - jogging to work, early to bed - and
he liked to link his disciplined personal habits with his political image. He was said to reprimand an aide repeatedly for eating doughnuts.

Lastly, to receive a Golden Fleece Award, an example of government waste must
never have received national press coverage.

William Proxmire died on 15th December, 2005, at age 90.

Excerpt from SiteFORSoreEyes discussion:

I just came across an article in the Detroit Free Press (July
2004) that directed me to a study published last month by
the Environmental Working Group called "Skin Deep".
This report examined the effects of chemicals on the
skin. The results are about as bad as we feared.

In 2003 an estimated three-quarters of all cosmetic
injuries reported by consumers to  FDA (Food and Drug
Administration) included symptoms consistent with sensitization
— rash, redness, swelling, blisters, sores, lumps,
inflammation, irritation, dryness, peeling, splitting,
cracking, scars, choking, coughing, sneezing, shortness
of breath, and wheezing.
(Environmental Working Group analysis of FDA 2004)

Despite the importance of minimizing allergy potential to
the financial health of the cosmetic industry, the industry’s
safety panel places little to no margin of safety between
safe levels of use for sensitizing ingredients in cosmetics
and levels shown to elicit allergic reactions in studies.

A detailed survey of approximately one-third of the panel’s
ingredient reviews in CIR (2003) shows that CIR (Cosmetic
Ingredient Review) has incorporated a safety margin into just
14 percent of its recommended safe values, and in one of
every five cases endorsed limits of use higher than the safe
levels determined in clinical studies.

Fragrances are routinely used in cosmetics and are also commonly
 linked to allergic reactions (sensitization).

This year's "pork barrel" list includes
One Million Dollars for marriage ceremony
of two Pennsylvania groundhogs:
Puxatawney Phil & ???

Every February 2, Groundhog Day in the United States,
a hibernating groundhog supposedly awakens and
comes out of his burrow in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.

If he sees his shadow, he will return to the burrow for six
more weeks of. Winter. If he doesn’t see his shadow, he
remains outside and starts his year because he knows
     that Spring has arrived early.

Spring ALWAYS arrives six weeks later on March 21.

      Frequently Asked Question
Why are we men more susceptible to hair loss than women?
I've washed my hair every day since I was a young teen and I'm not bald...yet.
      Answer:
I doubt that men are more likely to lose hair than women. If anything, women might be more
susceptible as they shampoo oftener. There are several possible reasons for your good fortune:
Rapid hair regrowth after hairs naturally fall out. Once regrowing hairs are visible again, shampoo
acid's opportunity to "burn" the tiny tunnel scalp openings is lessened or prevented. Average hair
growth is a half inch per month but many grow hair two or more times faster than that. That lessens
the likelihood of balding but some graying will still occur.

All of these factors lessen shampoo suds acid reaching the scalp:

· Curly hair.
· Large diameter hair.
· Long hair rather than short hair.
· High number count of hairs per square inch ("thick hair").

· Washing hair fewer times per week.
· Above average amount of natural scalp oil.
· Not being diligent about rubbing shampoo suds down onto the scalp.
· Shortness of time between shampoo application and rinsing. Be quick.

· Use less shampoo and don't "Repeat." as label suggests.
· Not using hair conditioner. That washes hair again with a different acid.
Or, use a spray-on hair conditioner to minimize acid on your scalp.
But only after you've read about...and considered...the 200 chemicals in
...synthetic fragrances and the hazards  cited by Environmental Working Group

...A former hair industry employee said "It works better." for her.
...Decide for yourself.

· Perhaps the brand of shampoo. An internet site owner in England wrote me
...about a very bald colleague who used a popular British shampoo that he
...described as smelling like "battery acid".

...Many people wash with shampoo, then "Repeat" as the label suggests, and
...finally wash again with hair conditioner. That's an acid bath for scalp openings, ...where hairs have naturally fallen out, three times in one day. Some do this
...every day. That regimen would have balded my head entirely in two to three
...years.

...I have small diameter hair, average regrowth rate and hair count per square
...inch, and minimal scalp oil.

Preface ______________________________________________________________________________________
Soap, shampoo, and acid rain have one thing in common: they all contain
acid
, the cleansing agent in hand soap and shampoo. Automobile exhaust and
manufacturing emissions combine with moisture in clouds to produce acid rain.
That's why cars and trucks now have pollution controls and vehicle inspections are
required to ensure that they are working properly.  You can learn about acid rain
at http:www.yahoo.com where about 700,000 web sites on the subject are
available for grade-schoolers through professional scientists.

Searching for "acid rain" in 2003, I found this concise statement from a listing by
University of Southampton, England:  http://www.soton.ac.uk. I cannot find it now.
Perhaps the University deleted it or consolidated the information into another listing.

"Acid rain
kills aquatic life, trees, crops and other vegetation,
damages buildings and monuments,
corrodes copper and lead piping,
damages such man-made things as automobiles,
reduces soil fertility and can cause toxic metals
to leach into underground drinking water sources."

Acid rain destroyed entire forests and even impacted the Rain Forest. Most
soaps and even toothpaste use acid as cleansers. In bar soap and shampoo,
acid causes balding and graying.

Always has. Neither are hereditary.

Like trees, hairs on your head have little chance against acid; especially
if you wash your hair several times a week. Ever gotten soap in your eyes?
That really stings! It's caused by acid in soap and shampoo.

Hair care ads often blame genes for balding: "It's hereditary." they say though unproven. Mentioning "hereditary" in advertising is not for consumer instruction.

It is only an attention getting word to sell products or services. Education is for schools.
Advertising is for selling and the Latin phrase, "caveat emptor" ("let the buyer beware"),
ought to be the name of a course required for eighth grade graduation.

"It's hereditary.", the ads say. But not even one study has been done of a particular
family's history of balding. Looking at family photo albums reveals little. In person  studies of at least ten families over a period of 50 to 100 years is required for scientific
credibility.

Those results would be published in a Scientific Journal.

None have been published. No study has been done. Baldness is now specifically
attributed to genes and identification of which gene is expected in a few years.
It won't be made. Acid is the causative despite the attention lavished on the search
for a "baldness gene".

More than 20,000 web pages about "baldness gene" exist but that "research" remains driven by money, not demonstrable results. My Hypothesis can be verified in three months. Easy. Inexpensive.

Assignment of blame for baldness to Nature has persisted for hundreds of years
merely because no other explanation has been found. Balding  seems logically to be
a natural process when coupled with graying, a venerable sign of aging in years past. Though scarcely tolerated anymore with colorizers galore available. "Prematurely
gray."
used to be commonly heard but even teenagers are now graying and balding.

"Prematurely bald." also?

Baldness lucklessly exists due to an unfortuitous combination over many centuries of culture, economics, neglectful science, and ruthless, opportunistic exploitation of vanity via advertising. All are commented
on herein as suggested reasons why soap was simply overlooked as a possible cause of baldness; especially in recent times with the anticipation of potential gene therapies. Independent of each other, all masked soap's seemingly inconsistent deleterious effects even as it accomplished welcome cleansing chores.

An often relearned lesson:  too much of a good thing is sometimes bad.

Soap's very gradual usage for personal cleanliness over centuries hid it from suspicion;
if anyone was even looking. Serious inquiry into the cause of baldness is now only decades old as both equipment and funding may have been inadequate. Adherence to scientific methodology certainly was inadequate...and still is:  only gene research* is being done to find the "cause" of baldness.  As to graying, some web sites attribute it
to nutrition while others blame smoking and a yoga site names an element within that
discipline. Google search for cause of graying
